Kirby completes acquisition of K-Sea Transportation

Following an agreement signed in March, Kirby Corporation has completed the $604 million acquisition of K-Sea Transportation.

The newly acquired company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Kirby. K- Sea operates a fleet of 58 tank barges and 63 tugboats along the US east, west and Gulf coasts, as well as Alaska and Hawaii, primarily transporting refined petroleum products. Based in Brunswick, New Jersey, K-Sea has major operating facilities in New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Seattle and Honolulu.
