Lagermax takes over more activities for 24plus

24plus expands with Lagermax Spedition (Salzburg) to Spain

Since March 2009 the general cargo alliance 24plus logistics network, Hauneck, has a partner in Spain who is integrated in the system. Lagermax Internationale Spedition takes over distribution and procurement of general cargo in Spain via Barcelona. This location offers connection to a nation-wide partner network for distribution and general cargo procurement in Spain, which includes also connections to the Balearic and Canary Islands (excluding dangerous goods!). Until now 24plus has been operating in Spain by using “gate traffics” of individual system partners.

Lagermax Group is partner of 24plus in several European countries. In Austria the Lagermax headquarters in Salzburg and the branch in Vienna are directly connected to the 24plus central hub. The Czech subsidiary Lagermax spedice a logistika s.r.o. in Prague serves as a hub for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Lagermax Spedició Kft. in Budapest is the 24plus partner for Hungary. Moreover the Lagermax-Stammhaus (head office) in Salzburg serves as South-Eastern Europe hub for 24plus, offering regular services to the whole Balkan Peninsula towards the Black Sea Coast.

Herbert Weber, Managing Director of the Lagermax forwarding company, associates the cooperation in Spain with long-term expectations: “We are not expecting high volumes from the start, but as soon as the 61 system partners of 24plus have activated their distribution and are marketing new transports, there will certainly be a change in consignment volumes.” In addition to Barcelona further destinations in Spain can be served directly and quickly on demand.

The Barcelona hub is approached four times weekly for supply and disposal on the main route. German and European 24plus partners might feed their consignments via the 24plus central hub in Hauneck, the regional hub in southern Germany in Heilbronn or the South-Eastern Europe hub in Salzburg. The transport time from dispatcher to recipients in eastern Spain is 72 hours and to western Spain 96 hours; more distant regions on the continent can be reached within 6 days.
