Lehnkering acquires stainless steel ship for chemical transports

Lehnkering Reederei further pursues the growth course and continues expanding its fleet. In a press release the company announced the acquisition of the stainless steel double-hull ship “MTS Ventura”. In the course of the ownership-change the vessel was renamed to “MTS Erlenhof”. “We are planning to acquire and build more ships in the near future to increase our performance“, said Cees van Gent, CEO of the Lehnkering Group and Managing Director of the Lehnkering shipping line.

“MTS Erlenhof” is a stainless steel double hull ship offering a loading capacity of 2,506 tons. The ship started operating in 2006. Lehnkering Rhein-Fracht GmbH Mannheim will now use the ship to transport chemicals.

Lehnkering Rhein-Fracht GmbH is a 100%-subsidiary of Lehnkering GmbH in Duisburg. Apart from the “MTS Erlenhof” the stainless steel fleet of the company comprises the company-own ships “MTS Lindenhof”, “MTS Almenhof” and “MTS Waldhof”. Moreover five stainless steel contract-ships are operating for the fleet. The capacity of the stainless steel tanks totals to 21,500 tons. Moreover Lehnkering Rhein-Fracht GmbH has 14 coating ships and 5 special ships with a capacity of about 34,500 tons.
