Less air cargo at Vienna International Airport

Vienna Airport was loosing ground in air freight and mail in the first half of the year 2012
 
For the air cargo division of the Flughafen Wien AG, the first half of the year 2012 was marked by a decline in air freight and mail volumes. Total volume (air cargo and trucking) amounted to 131,061 tonnes in the period from January to June, hence 8 per cent below last year’s level. For the month of June transport figures amounted to 20,902 tonnes (down 1.9%).
 
The number of passengers rose 7.9 per cent in the first six months of 2012 compared to the previous year’s period, to a total of 10.42 million persons. Flight movements stagnated at 120.455 take-offs and landings. Maximum Take Off Weight declined by 1.3 per cent to about 4 million tonnes.
