Less demand for Ökombi’s Rolling Road

Brenner-route is sole growth factor for Ökombi
 

During the first six months of 2009 the development of the volumes on the Rolling Roads of Ökombi was marked by a declining demand. From January to June 150,302 trucks were transported, which is 11.1 per cent or 18,799 units less than in the same period last year. “Volumes on the Brenner-route grew 8.4 per cent to 109,370 trucks. On the Danube/Pyhrn/Tauern-axis a decline of 38.9 per cent to 40,932 transported consignments was recorded“, the enterprise announced last week.

Ökombi operates 69 rolling road trains per day on seven national and international routes. In 2008 the Rail Cargo Austria AG-subsidiary transported about 330,000 trucks with a total weight of 13 million tons and generated a turnover of EUR 105 million with 36 employees 105. The fleet comprises 900 low-floor wagons and 56 rolling road coaches.
