LUG takes over freight management of Cathay Pacific in Frankfurt

Frankfurt Airport: Including the new customer Cathay Pacific Cargo five Asian airlines will use the services of LUG aircargo handling from August
 
LUG aircargo handling, the oldest independent freight management company at the airport in Frankfurt /Main, has won a new customer: Cathay Pacific Airways from Hong Kong. The cooperation of the two companies will become effective as of August 1. It covers daily passenger flights as well as up to eight weekly freighter flights.
 
The handling agent is already operating on behalf of four major Asian airlines in Frankfurt, namely ANA (Japan), China Southern, Korean Air Cargo and Thai Cargo. The new customer Cathay Pacific Cargo earmarks also the end of the career of previous CEO Wolfgang Korte, who has retired by the end of march. He had been working for Cathay Pacific Airways for 19 years as Cargo Manager for Germany, Austira and eastern Europe, before he joined LUG.
 
Established in 1946 Cathay Pacific Airways headquartered at the Hong Kong International Airport counts among the major Asian airlines when it comes to aircraft fleet, passenger figures and cargo volume. The comapny ranks also among the world’s top airlines. The airline operates more than 1,300 weekly flights Flüge with a fleet of 138 wide-body aircraft.
 
LUG aircargo handling GmbH is a company of the Dettmer Group KG, a family-managed enterprise based in Bremen. LUG offers customised, reliable solutions for all tasks in the segment of air freight management at Germany’s major airports Frankfurt/Main and Munich. Last year the company handled 230,000 tonnes of cargo in Frankfurt. Since October 2011 LUG operates 33,000m² covered warehiouse area in Frankfurt and 3.300 m² in Munich, with direct access to the apron for all categories of cargo, inlcuding dangerous goods.
