Contargo links up with Port of Rotterdam

Port of Rotterdam Authority to add eleven Contargo terminals to their online platform  ’InlandLinks’

The Port of Rotterdam has recently launched the ’InlandLinks.eu’ platform. The online portal is aimed to help shippers and logisticians to gain an overview of the intermodal offer in the hinterland of the Dutch seaport. Contargo will shortly be listed with twelve of its terminals in Germany, France and Switzerland: Basel, Frankfurt-Ost, Frankfurt Höchst, Germersheim, Gustavsburg, Karlsruhe, Ludwigshafen, Mannheim, Prouvy, Koblenz and Wörth, as well as the terminal in Emmerich, which had been added to the network in January already.

Two managers confirmed this step in the middle of this week at an event of the Port of Rotterdam in the frame of the Munich trade fair ‚transport logistic‘. Signing the participation form, the two Contargo managers Heinrich Kerstgens and Thomas Löffler agreed on the certification of their branches and the publication on the website of InlandLinks. InlandLinks can cartify inland terminals that offer intermodal container services and have an intermodal link to the Port of Rotterdam.

Achieving a transport volume of 1.7 million TEU last year Contargo counts among the major container logistics networks in Europe. Contargo integrates container transport between the western ports, Germany’s North Sea ports and the European hinterland. The enterprise operates 27 container terminals in Germany, France, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Contargo has offices at seven more locations in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Japan. Moreover the company operates its own vessel and railway liner services. Their 800 employees generated turnover of EUR 400 million in the year.
