Maersk Line launches transatlantic service to Russia

ECUBEX service of Maersk Line operates weekly between Russia and South America

The Danish shipping company Maersk Line has launched a new container service named ECUBEX from Russia to Ecuador and back. With six vessels, each of 2,500 TEU capacity (including 600 positions for reefer containers), weekly departures are offered. The runtime from South America to Russia is 21 days. In St.Petersburg they call at the terminals PetrolesPort and First Container Terminal.

Eastbound the new ECUBEX service starts from Guayaquil. On their journey to Russia the vessels have stopovers in Balboa (Panama) and Rotterdam. In the opposite direction the routing goes from St. Petersburg via Bremerhaven, Manzanillo and Balbao to the port of destination in Guayaquil. On the ex Russia connections mainly machines and facilities of the mining industry in South America will be shipped. Eastbound bananas, tropical fruits and flowers dominate the range of goods.
