Montan Terminal Kapfenberg receives ISO 14001 certification

Possible expansion of Montan Terminal Kapfenberg

Montan Terminal Kapfenberg, including all its resident companies, was certified according to the environmental management system ISO 14001. Brigitte Schwarz, the Mayoress of the city of Kapfenberg, the Landesräte Ing. Manfred Wegscheider and Johann Seitinger, and the representative of DEKRA, Markus Rumpold, handed over the certificates at a ceremony last week.

The Terminal in the northern part of Styria was opened in September 2007 with the aim to act as a hub and to shift unaccompanied combined cargo transport from road to rail. The ISO 14001 certificate documents the ecological sustainability of the location.

Independently thereof the associates and tenants of the terminal, the companies Fritz Egger Transport GmbH and Montan SpeditionsgesmbH, are considering a future-expansion of the area by 50,000 square metres in two steps. Currently there is a total area of 60,000 square metres available for throughput, handling, reparation and warehousing activities. The operating company Montan Terminal Kapfenberg GmbH has four employees on its payroll.
