Markus Aminger joins management board of DB Schenker Vienna

Schenker & CO AG: Alexander Schaffer and Markus Aminger, MBA, form dual leadership of the Vienna branch
 
With Alexander Winter’s change to the management board of DB Schenker Austria and Southeastern Europe at the start of this year, a new dual leadership is pulling the strings of the Vienna branch of the Schenker & CO AG forwarding company. Markus Aminger, MBA, new member of the management board will support the previous director in charge of land transport Alexander Schaffer. In his new function he will be in charge of the segments air and sea freight, logistics, trade fairs and sales.  Alexander Schaffer acts as the spokesperson of the management board in Vienna.
 
Markus Aminger has been working with DB Schenker for 15 years. Born in Salzburg he started his career at the branch in Slazburg in 1998 and completed his business administration studies with a specialisation on transport industry/logistics in 2000. Afterwards he was working at DB Schenker in New York for six years, before he assumed responsibility of the strategic development of three national branches in 2008 as coordination & special projects manager at the regional head office for Southeastern Europe in Vienna. At the same time he was holding the function of the second managing director being in charge of the companies in Bosnia, Serbia and Macedonia.
 
The Vienna branch of Schenker & CO AG has more than 350 employees at several locations in the Austrian capital. In addition to the 8,400 m² forwarding terminal in the Viennese port Albern the company operates several logistics service centres with a total covered area of about 41,000 m². In cartage 50 short-distance vehicles are operated.
