Clear path for establishment of Yusen Logistics

NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea Service about to join their forces as planned

A new strong, globally oriented provider is taking shape in the Japanese market of transport and logistics services. The parent companies of NYK Logistics and Yusen Air & Sea have reached an agreement about forming a joint enterprise some days ago. The joint venture named Yusen Logistics is to start operating on 1 October 2010. It unites NYK Logistics’ know how in the field of ocean freight forwarding and the strengths of Yusen Air & Sea in global air freight forwarding.

Yusen Logistics has around 15,000 employees at 431 locations around the globe. About 13,000 emplyoees are working outside of Japan. For storage and throughput services the joint venture will provide around 2.33 million sq. m. logistics area from its start-up.
