Militzer & Münch buys company inTurkey to boost its presence

The Turkish company of Militzer & Münch develops the market segment of road and rail transports by taking over the ATC Group:

Militzer & Münch is taking a major step to consolidate its position in the Turkish market for transport and logistics services. With effect from 1 January 2012 the internationally active enterprise is to take over the business activities of the Turkish ATC Group. The Istanbul based company offers the complete range of logistics services. Both parties agreed not to disclose the costs of the transaction. Militzer & Münch and ATC have been working together: Since almost a year ago, the German company of Militzer & Münch has been carrying out itsTurkey transports successfully with ATC.

The ATC Group was founded in 2000 by Orhan Cem Ulusoy. Today the company offers a broad range of logistics solutions for road and rail transports, for air freight and ocean freight as well as for project logistics. “So far, our Turkish unit has been focusing exclusively on air and sea freight”, says Ewald Kaiser, CEO of the M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG, “but in future, we will be able to offer our customers the complete Militzer & Münch product portfolio on this important market.”

With effect from 1 January 2012, the former Turkish Militzer & Münch company and ATC with its staff of 15 will merge. Orhan Cem Ulusoy will act as Managing Director of the company. As of January, all other Militzer & Münch country units are also switching their Turkey transports to the new company, beginning withFrance,Morocco, andTunisia.

“With its more than 70 million inhabitants, Turkey has a major internal market that is growing rapidly”, says Kaiser. “Due to its geographical location, Turkey is also a gateway to Central Asia, and it this function of the country especially that is of major importance for us, the specialist forEastern Europe andCentral Asia.”
