Hanjin Pacific takes over Taiwan facilities from APM Terminals

APM Terminals sells container terminals at Kaohsiung port to Hanjin Pacific Corporation
 

With an acquisition the Hanjin Pacific Corporation expands their market presence at the Taiwanese seaport Kaohsiung. The enterprise has reached an agreement with APM Terminals, an affiliate of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, concerning the takeover of the Piers 76 und 77. The facilities will be joined with the current operations at Pier 78. This doubles the handling capacity of Hanjin Pacific in Kaohsiung.

Hanjin Pacific Corporation is charged with the terminal operations of the Korean group Hanjin Shipping. Their global network comprises 12 locations. Five terminals are situated in South Korea. Seven facilities are in Japan, Taiwan, Europe and the United States of America. In 2010 Hanjin Pacific will open a location in Algeciras (Spain). The terminal being constructed in Tan Cang-Cei Mep in Vietnam is to start operating in 2011. In Jacksonville in the U.S. the group will launch its own operation in 2013.
