M+R Spedag Group becomes fully operational in Vietnam

M+R Spedag Group announces the opening of new branches in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (Vietnam) on March 2, 2015

M+R Spedag has been serving Vietnam for many years in cooperation with local partners. The new purpose built offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and operating arm in Haiphong Port represent large investments and demonstrate M+R Spedag’s commitment to Vietnam. The new offices will report directly to M+R Singapore, which acts as a regional logistics and transshipment hub for South East Asia.

“Following the opening of the first branches of M+R in Asia in 1985, we have continuously expanded our network of own offices in this region to now over 45. The expansion into Vietnam represents the logical next step of our way to cover all the emerging economies in Eastern Asia”, says Daniel Richner, owner and CEO of the group.

“We are proud to finally extend our coverage in Vietnam from a commercial representation to fully operational offices under the name of M+R Forwarding Co Ltd. We firmly believe in the fast growing market of 93 Million People and the talents of the Vietnamese people to grow their economy exponentially over the next years.” says Gareth Evans, Executive Director of M+R Forwarding Pte Ltd, Singapore.

With exciting changes inside and outside the country such as with the TPP in pipeline, M+R considers itself now well positioned to expand business and its services for its network and direct clientele. It was a natural progression after years of on the ground work in procurement and development.

M+R Spedag Group is a Swiss based international logistics company, founded in Basel, Switzerland in 1952. The company has more than 2,000 employees in 80 branches, and an annual turnover of CHF 650 million.
