MSC extends “California Express“ to Northwest Pacific

MSC liner service adds two new ports to its schedule linking the Mediterranean Sea and the US West coast

 

The liner service operated under the name „California Express“ by the MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company between the western Mediterranean Sea and the US West coast is about to be expanded to the Pacific Northwest region. Commencing with the sailing from Gioia Tauro on 29th December the ports of Vancouver and Seattle will be called on a regular basis.

The revised port rotation of “California Express“ will be: Gioia Tauro, Napoli, Civitavecchia, La Spezia, Valencia, Cristobal, Balboa, Long Beach, Oakland, Vancouver, Seattle, Oakland, Long Beach, Balboa, Cristobal, Gioia Tauro. Via Balboa, Cristobal, Gioia Tauro and Valencia transhipment options to numerous other ports are available.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company with its headquarters in Geneva has 431 vessels providing 1.8 million TEU capacity, which makes it the world’s second-largest container shipping line. Last year the enterprise has moved around 10.3 million TEU. This figure will be clearly exceeded in 2010.
