MSC: interim booking stop on cargo from Europe to Asia

Announced capacity bottlenecks; Booking stop at Mediterranean Shipping Company on bookings for cargo ex Europe towards Asia and the Middle East until April

The liner shipping company MSC, Mediterranean Shipping Company (Geneva) has announced an interim booking stop. This suspension affects cargo shipments ex Europe to Asia and India, Middle East and Red Sea. Bookings on these relations are closed until the first week of April 2013. These measures have been taken due to reasons of service quality, especially in view of the widely announced limited availability of capacity during the coming weeks, as the shipping line informs.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, is a privately owned shipping line, founded in 1970, which has evolved from a conventional ship operator to a leading global shipping line. As of the end of January 2013, it was operating 442 container vessels with an intake capacity of 2,210,000 TEU.
