ND Group: Annual turnover in 2012 increased by 8.5 per cent

Targeted acquisitions in Sri Lanka, India and Antwerp consolidated the Norbert Dentressangle group’s international position in terms of freight forwarding and logistics
 
In spite of a volatile economic environment the international transport, logistics and freight forwarding company Norbert Dentressangle based in Paris can look back on a successful year 2012.
 
The consolidated annual turnover for the 2012 financial year amounted to EUR 3.88 billion, which is equivalent to +8.5 per cent growth. Transport accounted for EUR 2.04 billion of the total turnover (+3.7 per cent); logistics achieved a turnover of EUR 1.79 billion (+12.2 per cent), and freight forwarding accounted for EUR 143 million, growing 67.1 per cent year-on-year.
 
Moreover Norbert Dentressangle had been able to consolidate their international position in terms of freight forwarding and logistics through integrating the freight forwarding activities acquired from the John Keells group in India and Sri Lanka, and the logistics/freight forwarding activities of Nova Natie in Antwerp. “Norbert Dentressangle maintained its growth dynamic throughout the 2012 financial year, despite a worsening and more volatile economic environment, “ says Hervé Montjotin, CEO. “The flexibility of our organisation and our rigorous management enable us to look forward to further operating profit growth (EBITA)”, he adds.
 
Norbert Dentressangle is a major international provider of transport, logistics and freight forwarding services, generating annual revenue of EUR 3.9 billion in 2012. The company develops high value-added solutions for its activities in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Norbert Dentressangle employs 33,000 people in 26 countries and generates 59 per cent of its turnover outside France.
