K-Line restructures its Asia – North America East Coast services; Evergreen, COSCON, PIL and Wan Hai Lines launch a new Far East – South America West Coast service; Hanjin, COSCON, PIL and Wan Hai Lines launch a new transpacific service; Evergreen, Wan Hai, MOL and Seacon launch a new Asia – East Africa service; APL expands its North Asia Philippines Express; Hanjin launches a new service to the Pacific North West.
 

K-Line restructures its Asia – North America East Coast services; Evergreen, COSCON, PIL and Wan Hai Lines launch a new Far East – South America West Coast service; Hanjin, COSCON, PIL and Wan Hai Lines launch a new transpacific service; Evergreen, Wan Hai, MOL and Seacon launch a new Asia – East Africa service; APL expands its North Asia Philippines Express; Hanjin launches a new service to the Pacific North West.

K-Line, as a member of CKYH – the Green Alliance (COSCON, K-Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping) is restructuring its AWE Loops between Asia and North America East Coast.

While CKYH continues to operate five weekly service loops (AWE1 – 5), the AWE-5 service is upgraded in terms of vessel capacity and adjusted calling ports, and the AWE-2 and AWE-3 add new ports to the rotation.

Effective end-April, the services will be as follows:

  • AWE-1: Nine 4,000 TEU vessels calling at Qingdao > Ningbo > Shanghai > Pusan > New York > Wilmington > Savannah > Pusan – (Qingdao)
  • AWE-2: Nine 4,500 TEU vessels calling at Qingdao > Shanghai > Ningbo > Yokohama > Savannah > Norfolk > New York > Boston – (Qingdao)
  • AWE-3: Nine 4,250 TEU vessels calling at Hong Kong > Yantian > Kaohsiung > Shanghai > Pusan > Savannah > Charleston > Wilmington – (Hong Kong)
  • AWE-4: Nine 5,500 TEU vessels calling at Ho Chi Minh > Shekou > Hong Kong > Yantian > Singapore > Halifax > New York > Norfolk > Jacksonville > Savannah > Singapore – (Ho Chi Minh)
  • AWE-5: Nine 5,500 TEU vessels calling at Kaohsiung > Hong Kong > Yantian > Ho Chi Minh > Singapore > New York > Norfolk > Boston > Singapore – (Kaohsiung)

Evergreen, COSCON, Pacific International and Wan Hai Lines will jointly launch a new 70-day round trip service linking the Far East and the West Coast of South America.

Effective April 30th, the new weekly WCSA service will deploy ten 3,000 ships – four from Evergreen and two each from COSCON, PIL and Wan Hai.

The port rotation will be:  Kaohsiung > Yantian > Hong Kong > Ningbo > Shanghai > Manzanillo (Mexico) > Buenaventura (Columbia) > Callao (Peru) > Iquique (Chile) > San Antonio (Chile) > Callao (Peru) > Manzanillo (Mexico) > Kaohsiung.

Hanjin, COSCON, PIL and Wan Hai Lines have launched of a joint service on the transpacific trade, linking ports in south/east China Japan and the US West Coast.

The new Central China – Long Beach Express (CLX) service will deploy five 3,600 – 3,850 TEU vessels (two provided by COSCON and one each by the other three partners) on the following port rotation: Fuzhou > Ningbo > Shanghai > (Yokohama) > Long Beach > Fuzhou.

Evergreen, Wan Hai Lines, MOL and Seacon will launch a weekly joint service on April 24th, serving Asia – East Africa.

Evergreen and WHL have operated liner service between Colombo and East Africa since May 2010. The four shipping lines will launch the new AEF service with a shortened rotation cycle starting from major Southeast Asia transhipment hubs in Singapore and Malaysia to Kenya and Tanzania in East Africa.

The AEF service will deploy six 1,200 – 1,3500 TEU ships (two each from Evergreen and WHL and one each from MOL and Seacon) on the following 42-day port rotation: Singapore > Tanjung Pelepas > Port Klang > Mombasa, Kenya > Dar es Salaam, Tanzania > Singapore.

APL has expanded its North Asia Philippines Express (NPX) feeder service to cover Central China and Manila in the Philippines. Service enhancements also include two weekly calls to Manila from Kaohsiung.

South China and Hong Kong markets are better served with direct calls to Manila, and enhanced connections also link Philippine markets with Central China and other Asian markets through calls in Kaohsiung.

South East Asian markets can connect at Kaohsiung with APL’s intra-Asia services, Korea China Straits (KCS) and Japan Thailand Vietnam (JTV) services. North Asia cargo bound for the Philippines can connect to NPX using KCS and JTV services via Hong Kong.

APL will deploy three 1,100 TEU vessels on the NPX service, calling at: Ningbo > Shanghai > Hong Kong > Chiwan > Kaohsiung > Manila > Cebu > Cagayan > Kaohsiung > Ningbo.

Hanjin Shipping will add a new service to the Pacific North West trade on April 22nd.

The new weekly PNY (YH-PNW) service (will deploy five 4,300 TEU vessels jointly operated by Hanjin and its alliance partner, Yang Ming Line, calling at: Hong Kong > Yantian > Kaohsiung > Tacoma > Vancouver > Busan > Hong Kong.
