New “captains“ of DHL Freight and DHL Global Forwarding

Thomas George is the new COO of DHL Global Forwarding – Amadou Diallo assumes the function of the CEO DHL Freight:

DHL puts the responsibility of its global transport and logistics activities into new hands. Thomas George, since April 2008 Chief Executive Officer DHL Freight, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) DHL Global Forwarding. Amadou Diallo is taking over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DHL Freight.

As COO DHL Global Forwarding, George is responsible for the global air and ocean freight operations including value added services and all other operational functions. The role of COO is a new position within the organization and has been established to drive the development of DHL’s core products Air and Ocean Freight, to improve process harmonization and to strengthen the network business model within the organization. In his new function, George will continue to be a member of the DHL Global Forwarding Freight Management Board reporting directly to Roger Crook, CEO DHL Global Forwarding, Freight.

Amadou Diallo is succeeding Thomas George at DHL Freight. In his new role, Amadou Diallo will be responsible for DHL’s international road and rail freight forwarding business. DHL Freight is a European leader in overland freight forwarding offering high quality services covering more than 50 countries. So far Amadou Diallo was Chief Executive Officer of DHL Global Forwarding for Africa and South Asia Pacific and a member of the DHL Global Forwarding, Freight Management Board.
