Modern 3,000 m² terminal of DB Schenker in Zilina combines logistics solutions with the European network of the forwarding company

The worldwide operating transport and logistics provider DB Schenker has just opened a new location in Zilina, northern Slovakia. The facility is situated close to one of the biggest automotive factories in the lately established Business Park Zilina, and offers warehousing solutions and direct connections to the major north-southbound and east-westbound traffic routes.

At the new facility DB Schenker serves customers from the consumer goods industry as well as suppliers from the automotive segment. On 3,000 m² they provide logistics and value added services, ranging from pre-assembly to automotive parts, including subsequent just-in-time delivery to the works. The location serves also as a cross docking hub for international land transport.

In Zilina a team of 18 persons is employed. The location has capacity for further expansion. “The region around Zilina shows a positive economic development. This modern facility will meet the requirements of our international customers in every respect“, Dietmar Schmickl, Managing Director of the national company Schenker s.r.o., says confidently. “The combination of storage logistics and distribution service creates synergies and thus more efficient logistics processes for the companies.“

DB Schenker’s national branch in Slovakia has been established in July 1992. In addition to the headquarters in Bratislava they operate own locations in Kosice, Zilina and Zvolen. The branch in Zilina was opened in 2005.
