New locations and optimised structure at Augustin Network

Augustin Network takes steps to improve truck rotations and boosts branch focuses

Augustin Network is continuously optimising its European location network and adjusting the structures to its branch focus strategy. At the start of this week CEO Christian Fürstaller announced the opening of two new branches for customer service and a third station for truck disposition. The new customer care stations are at the port of Cologne – replacing the previous location in Neuss (Germany) – and in Milan as an additional station in Northern Italy. The new site in Ruzomberok in Slovakia takes off charge from the locations in Prague and Györ, which dispose the company-own fleet.

In the course of the restructuring the management charges each of the three production sites with clearly defined branch focuses. The team in Prague disposes of the cooling equipment, bulk trucks and walking floor vehicles with sliding floors. Hungary (Györ) will be the control station for Joloda trailers with special pallet loaders for paper transport, and for coil throughs for steel transport. In Slovakia canvas covered vehicles are focused on the supply of DIY-stores.

The target of the new strategy is to improve truck rotations and the expansion of the triangular transport services Austria-Germany-Italy. Managing director Jürgen Huth wannts to boost road and rail transport with the new locations at the port of Cologne and in Milan.

Augustin Network with its headquarters in Straßwalchen near Salzburg employs around 1,000 persons at 13 locations in seven countries (Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia). The fleet of 560 trucks and 700 drivers mainly serves the markets in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Benelux and Spain. Being a specialist for transport management within the Augustin Quehenberger Group the company generates an annual turnover of about EUR 140 million.
