IRS (Berlin) takes over CIS transport from ICF

CIS container transport of ICF Intercontainer-Interfrigo remain to their full extent

The disposal of the activities of ICF Intercontainer-Interfrigo SA (in liquidation) has gained a facet. Having sold its Scandinavian operations the enterprise has now also found a solution for its CIS container transport. By the change of the years 2010/2011 IRS InterRail Services AG in Berlin will take over these services. The trained staff will be further employed. Traffic frequency and offering will remain unchanged.

ICF Intercontainer-Infrigo has been playing an important role in the transport market for container services to and from the CIS for 15 years. Since their establishment the transport services were based on a cooperation with the TransInvest Group St. Gallen. In the year 2000 the intermodal offering with the CIS was further developed by founding the joint venture IRS InterRail Services GmbH with its headquarters in Berlin, which is held by TransInvest and ICF (each 50 per cent).

With the coming change of the years IRS Berlin takes over the products „Ostwind“ and „Westwind“. Headed by IRS managing director Marlies Kaulich the transport services between Western Europe via Berlin and Malaszewicze/Brest to the CIS will be continued as usual. IRS will also organise and offer the services on the so-called „Südroute“ via Záhony/Chop (Hungary/Ukraine) after a short interruption.
