SCI shows interest in direct service to Koper

Mediterranean schedule of SCI Shipping Corporation of India might be completed by a liner service to Koper

 

In response to the growing throughput of sea cargo at port of Koper with points of departure and destinations in India the management of the SCI Shipping Corporation of India is considering the establishment of a direct service for container shipments from Chennai and Mumbai to Slovenia v. v.. Representatives of Luka Koper d.d. brought this message from their mission at the Slovenian industry and trade chamber in India. SCI is currently serving the port of Koper with a feeder service.

The goods exchange between India and Koper showed a strongly rising trend lately. In the year 2009 maritime volume amounted to 110,000 tons. The most important goods groups were and are containers and new cars.
