New members joined management board of Kuehne + Nagel International AG

Horst-Joachim Schacht and Tim Scharwath assume management of two key resorts of Kuehne + Nagel International AG:

 

The globally acting logistics service provider Kuehne + Nagel is adding fresh blood to its top management. Effective 1 September 2011 the board of directors appointed Horst-Joachim Schacht and Tim Scharwath to the management of Kuehne + Nagel International AG. Schacht assumes responsibility of the sea freight division, while Scharwath will head the air freight division. The two managers will assume the tasks of Peter Ulber, who will leave the enterprise due to personal reasons.

Horst-Joachim Schacht (52) joined Kuehne + Nagel in 1997; he was previously holding several management positions in the shipping industry. His career with Kuehne + Nagel started when he became a member of the management board of the German national company, with responsibility for sea freight. Since 1999 he has been Senior Vice President and in charge of the global sea freight activities.

Tim Scharwath (45) started his professional career with Kuehne + Nagel in 1992. He accumulated experience in the segments sales and location management, before he was appointed air freight manager for central Europe in 2004. From 2007 until 2008 he headed the subsidiary in the Netherlands. Since 2009 he has been regional director for north-western Europe.
