New transport and logistics fair in Eastern Europe

BVV Trade Fairs Brno Co. celebrates 85-years-jubilee in 2013 and presents new international transport fair ‚Eurotrans‘

Eurotrans – a new international transport fair is to be launched this year. The trade fair scheduled for 11 – 14 September 2013 is a new product of BVV Trade Fairs Brno. This new event is built upon the existing fairs ‘Auto/ and Rail-Tec’ (International Fair for Commercial Vehicles, Auto Parts and Garage Equipment) and ‘Transport and Logistics’ (previous logistics unit of the MSV International Engineering Fair). The new concept covers road, rail and waterway transport as well as aviation and warehousing. The fair will be held biennially, Norbert M. Schmidt, managing director, deputy CEO (Commercial), informed in a press conference in the middle of this week.

The organisers expect about 10,000 to 15,000 visitors on an event area of 8,000 m² to 12,000 m². Austrian companies are likely to participate via their representative offices in Eastern Europe, they estimate.

Bilateral trade between Austria and the Czech Republic has been showing a strong development since the 1990ies, and had a volume of almost EUR 9 billion in turnover in 2011 (source: Czech Statistical Office).

According to a report of the Austrian Economic Chamber ‘machines and transport means’ make up about 30 per cent of export volume from Austria to the Czech Republic. Due to the difficult economic situation the year 2012 was not an easy, but nevertheless a quite successful year for Trade Fairs Brno, says Mr. Jiří Kuliš, CEO & vice-chairman of the board. In 2013 the Czech trade fair organiser celebrates its 85-years jubilee.
