New UK distribution hub for Norbert

Norbert Dentressangle has expanded its Specialist Services operation, which caters to businesses supplying high-value, delicate or large commercial items, with the addition of a new national distribution centre at Brownhills, Walsall.

The warehouse is comprised of 20,000 sq ft of fully-racked high bay storage, a 23,000 sq ft cross-dock facility – with 22 loading bays – and 10,000 sq ft of office space. In addition, there is space for further, significant expansion, should it be required.

The site is linked via the M6, M6 toll, M42 ad A5.

Dave Finnie, director of Specialist Services and Red Inside at Norbert Dentressangle Transport and Distribution UK, said: “Brownhills will become the centre of excellence for Specialist Services and be a showpiece site where existing and future clients will be able to view our operational capability at first hand. Norbert Dentressangle has made a significant investment in refurbishing the site to ensure it meets our immediate and future needs.”

More than 50 drivers, warehouse operatives and administration staff, based at the redeveloped International Freight Terminal on the Maybrook Industrial Estate in Brownhills, will operate the site. This opening follows the opening of a 295.000 sq ft national pallet network at Crick, Northamptonshire, in January.
