NÖVOG signs service and maintenance contract with LogServ

Logistik Service GmbH in charge of control and signalling technology on the railway routes of NÖVOG

The Lower Austrian transport organisation company NÖVOG (Niederösterreichische Verkehrsorganisationsgesellschaft) charges Logistik Service GmbH (LogServ) with service and maintenance of the control and signalling technology on their 280 km railway network. Both partners signed a relevant two-years contract at the start of February. “However we are planning to handle more issues together with LogServ, like training of employees“, says Gerhard Stindl, managing director of NÖVOG about the future potential of this cooperation. Among other things a team of the NÖVOG will be trained in an intensive course for several weeks on signalling technology with LogServ.“Interference suppression will lie in the hands of the NÖVOG staff. On a second level the team of LogServ will be available. LogServ is also in charge of regulatory inspections“, Markus Schinko, executive officer of LogServ and managing director of CargoServ, says about the flexible cooperation.

LogServ, specialising on industrial logistics with headquarters in Linz, was established as a 100%-subsidiary of voestalpine Stahl GmbH on 1 April 2001. The customers of the full service provider are mainly in the industrial sector: construction materials industry, machine and plant building, metal production and processing, automotive and automotive supply industries. On the rail sector the company serves operators of works and connecting railroads, private railway operators and private freight car rental companies. With about 840 employees the enterprise generated turnover of EUR 163.4 million in the financial year ending on March 2012.
