Nordfrost GmbH & Co. KG takes over Arktis deep freeze logistics forwarder

Deep freeze logistician Nordfrost is continuously adjusting its refrigerated warehouse capacities to transport logistics

Nordfrost group, by their own statement market leading deep freeze logistics provider in Germany, expands its position. With effect from 1 November 2010 the enterprise headquartered in Schortens takes over Arktis Tiefkühllogistik GmbH in Mainz, including their locations in Essen, Hannover and Saarlouis.

The forwarding company generates a current annual turnover of around EUR 12 million. The four brothers who dispose of Arktis, will continue their activities within the company, which shall bring synergies but also more know how.

Having acquired five deep freeze forwarding companies at the change of the year 2009/2010, Nordfrost corporate group expects a total turnover (including warehousing and broker business) for 2010 of approximately EUR 400 million. With the latest acquisition the number of employees of around 2,000 rises by 121 persons.

Nordfrost group has integrated the transport logistics division into its business structures six years ago. The enterprise adjusts currently its warehousing locations to the needs of an area covering logistics network, in order to meet the requirements of more than 1,000 clients from the food industry and the food retail sector.
