L. Baumrock (Güssing) throws the towel

Transport company L. Baumrock files bankruptcy

On 12 August the bankruptcy proceedings about the assets of the L. Baumrock Gesellschaft m.b.H., which is headquartered in Güssing (Burgenland) and operates a location in Vösendorf, were opened at the regional court Eisenstadt. According to the KSV (Austrian association for the protection of creditors) the insolvency affects 33 creditors and 13 employees.

According to the company, debts amount to EUR 1.5 million. Considering the assets of EUR 450,000 excessive debts amount to EUR 1.05 million. Managing Director Ludwig Baumrock said the reason for the insolvency was the increasing competitive pressure due to eastern European competitors and the rising diesel price. Another reason was the declining transport volume in UK-traffic.

The affiliate Baumrock Speditions GmbH in Brunn/Gebirge has opened bankruptcy proceedings at the regional court Landesgericht Wiener Neustadt in July 2005, according to information of KSV. The company is to be liquidated after a failed enforced compensation.
