OPDR shipping company launches marketing office in Germany

New company OPDR Germany GmbH started with locations in Hamburg and Bremen:

The Hamburg-based container shipping company Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei (OPDR) celebrates its 130-years-jubilee by founding its first own regional marketing office in Germany. OPDR Germany GmbH is fully operational with two offices in Hamburg and Bremen since two days ago.

A staff of eleven employees attends to the national marketing of OPDR’s logistics services. "With our own marketing offices in germany we will continue to offer OPDR customers the best service possible", says OPDR Germany Managing Director Björn Döpelheuer. “We are delighted that we now sit under one roof with the OPDR Liner activities. For us and our customers, this means significantly faster decision making.“

"The foundation of OPDR Germany is an integral part of our new sales strategy and goes in line with OPDR’s expansion plans", says Till Ole Barrelet, Managing Director of OPDR. "Throughout Europe we want to strengthen our sales efforts. Therefore we have already provided our daughter company OPDR Netherlands in Rotterdam with the respective competencies.“

OPDR is the abbreviation for Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei and has transported cargo across Europe as well as to and from Africa for 130 years. The short sea shipping container line works on the basis of an efficient agency network in more than 20 European as well as Northern and Western African countries. OPDR is a company of the Bernhard Schulte Group and has about 100 employees on the land in Europe.
