Panalpina “fishes“ major order of Samsung

Samsung Electronics selects Panalpina Group as partner for transports to Central and South America

Having won a major order, Panalpina Group emphasises its strong position as a partner of the international high-tech industry for intercontinental transport logistic solutions. Samsung Electronics has charged the forwarding enterprise to handle most of their FCL (full container load) ocean freight traffic from Asia-Pacific to Panama in 2010. Samsung estimates to handle 1.500 to 2.000 TEU with Panalpina this year.

Moreover Samsung Electronics has awarded Panalpina a three-year extension contract for their warehouse operation (8.000 sq.m.) in the Colon-free trade zone. But that is not all. Samsung also contracts Panalpina to handle direct deliveries from their factories in Asia and North America (including Mexico) to Central and South America.

Samsung Electronics is a globally leading manufacturer of semiconductors, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies. The South Korean enterprise employs approximately 164,600 people in 179 offices across 61 countries. The annual turnover amounted to USD 96 billion in 2008.
