Panalpina launches direct LCL services from Asia to Poland

Transport logistics group Panalpina launches two new direct consolidation services from Taiwan and South Korea to Central Europe:

The globally acting provider of supply chain solutions Panalpina enhances its consolidation service from Asia to Europe. Through its in-house carrier Pantainer Express Line the enterprise launches two new own operated direct Less than Container Load (LCL) services. The new guaranteed weekly services are from Keelung (Taiwan) and Busan (South Korea) to Wroclaw (Poland).

The new services reduce transit times by two days as transhipment of cargo is avoided at the LCL hub in Hamburg. LCL shipments are to arrive in Wroclaw from Keelung within 32 days. For shipments from Busan to Wroclaw Panalpina schedules 38 days. At the same time CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 6.9 per cent.

“Wroclaw’s geographical position and its developed road infrastructure make Poland’s fourth biggest city a strategic location for optimal access to Lower and Upper Silesia, which are the most advanced industrial regions in Poland. The two new guaranteed weekly services have been launched to meet increased customer demands, especially in the automotive, high-tech and telecom sectors“, the enterprise states in a press release.

The new consolidation services are part of Panalpina’s long term strategy to grow business on key Asia trade lanes, especially on the Far East Westbound, Transpacific Eastbound, Intra Asia, Asia to Latin America and Asia to Middle East trade. Carsten Meyer, Global Head of Ocean Freight LCL, says: "With these two new services to Wroclaw we are enhancing our existing product portfolio for the Polish market remarkably. The new services also strengthen our position as one of the leading LCL service providers on the Asia to Europe trade." Panalpina has already been offering direct LCL services to Poland from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Ningbo.
