Montan forwarding enhances its service at the branch in Fürnitz

New bulk warehouse of Montan Spedition in Fürnitz to reach its full capacity utilisation shortly:

The Montan Spedition completed its location in Fürnitz with a covered bulk warehouse. With a total investment at the amount of EUR 1 million (including conveyor system and fork lifts) the forwarding company established a facility divided in 14 storage boxes with a total capacity of 7,000 cubic metres for the storage and throughput of loose bulk cargo. The new building completes the 5,000 m² warehouse, where palletised goods were handled previously. It offers capacities for interim storage of maximum 30,000 tons of raw material. In the interview with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung Managing director Karl Thaller explains the facility is a response to the growing import via the southern ports. He sees signs that full capacity utilisation will be reached in a few weeks.

Montan Spedition was established in 1973 and has currently about 35 employees at its locations in Kapfenberg and Fürnitz, as well as five employees at the branch in Istanbul. In addition to raw materials and agricultural products – packed and bulk goods – the company forwards also semi finished products (aluminium, steel goods, coils, glass, paper) and finished products (machines, building material, consumer goods, chemicals). Montan Terminal Kapfenberg, jointly operated with the partner company Egger Transporte, is connected to Rail Cargo Austria’s NINA system again after a short interruption.
