Wallmann & Co. now able to handle general cargo of maximum 320 tons

New heavy lift crane increases throughput capacity of the Hamburg-based terminal operator Wallmann & Co.:

The multi purpose terminal of Wallmann & Co. in the port of Hamburg has new equipment. The new LHM 600 Litronic – a mobile port crane for heavy cargo and project load – increases the throughput capacity of the port service provider. The LMH 600 has a maximum lifting capacity of 208 tons and is Hamburg’s strongest quay crane. And even better: The so-called Synchronizing Crane Control System" of Liebherr allows a single crane driver to operate two mobile Liebherr port cranes in tandem and hence increase the lifting capacity of the cranes.

The previously used 140 tons cranes, which allow also for tandem operation, and the new 208 tons crane, Wallmann & Co. is now able to load cargo pieces of a maximum weight of 320 tons. This is equal to the weight of 300 VW-Golf, which could be moved in a single lift. The Vertical Line Finder with diagonal pull display can lift heavy cargo without vibrations and position it at the right place within less time. “The new crane enables us to meet the increasing customer requirements ideally", says Hans-Dieter Wilde, Managing Director Wallmann & Co..
