Panalpina is first in industry to be globally certified to OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety. Experts from leading inspection and certification company SGS have audited the forwarding and logistics services provider Panalpina across the globe. Panalpina is the first and only multinational provider of supply chain solutions to achieve this certification globally. In addition, Panalpina was recertified globally to the standards ISO 9001: Quality and ISO 14001: Environment. The certificates were officially awarded in mid-February 2013.

The main objective of OHSAS 18001 is to mitigate health and safety risks for staff. “The global Health and Safety certification is particularly important for our oil and gas, as well as industrial projects. They often involve heavy machinery and cargo in distant locations, and difficult weather conditions,” says Lindsay Zingg, Panalpina’s Corporate Head of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment.
