Commitment of a connaisseur of the industry: Automotive logistics expert Gefco Austria appointed Peter Vanek as its new managing director
As of the start of July 2014 Peter Vanek (45) took over the management of the transport and logistics provider Gefco in Austria. Born in Vienna, he has many years of industry expertise. He had been holding several leading positions at Rail Cargo Austria (RCA) and Czipin Consulting lately.
At Gefco, Peter Vanek succeeds Pierre-Jean Lorrain, who had been active as an interim managing director in Austria since April 2014. His new employer was an internationally successful company and the number one of automotive logistics experts in Austria, he said in a first statement.
Gefco headquartered in Paris is the European market leader in the segment of automotive logistics and covers the entire range of logistics, from global procurement of production parts to distribution of completed vehicles. As an allround logistics provider the company offers also full range logistics at first hand. Customised multimodal solutions, inbound, sequencing, storage keeping, handling and control are covered in the portfolio. Gefco operates six locations in Austria with about 70 employees.
