Polish cargo railway CTL Logistics gained momentum in 2009

CTL Logistics transports Fiat new cars per block train from Poland to Germany

With the expansion of the activities in transborder transport and by pushing intermodal services the private Polish cargo railway company CTL Logistics wants to continue their success of last year throughout 2010. In 2009 the enterprise transported 16.9 million tons of goods. This is a 22 per cent increase on the previous year. With a total transport effort of 3.8 billion ton kilometres CTL Logistics maintained a market share of around 8 per cent for rail cargo transport from, to and in Poland in the reporting period.

The enterprise has landed a new major order in the transborder traffic segment. They move new cars of the Fiat brand from the Polish plant in Tychy to Oberhausen in Germany on behalf of west European vehicle logistics companies. Three block trains a week with continuous traction are currently on the program. A special feature of the transportations is their equipment with a GPS positioning system for the real time monitoring of the cars.
