Port of Emden called by a new ro-ro service

Ro-ro service of Grimaldi Line ships Audi Q3s for customers in Germany and Europe from Barcelona to Emden:

The starting signal for a new ro-ro service was given at the port of Emden. These days the first Audi Q3s arrived at the port at the estuary of the Ems river, coming with the “MV Grande Mediterraneo” from Barcelona, operated by the shipping line Grimaldi.

The smallest SUV within the Audi model range, Audi Q3, is produced in the Spanish factory Martorell. The official market launch of the series is scheduled for October. The vehicles will be transported by a new weekly ro-ro service from Barcelona to Emden. There they are quickly forwarded by railway, truck and vessel to Audi customers in Germany and the rest of Europe.

For the port of Emden, this additional service means a further expansion of vehicle throughput, and consolidation of its position as one of Europe’s largest ro-ro ports. Ro-ro shipping services are available to 25 ports worldwide, including Argentina, Brazil, USA, Canada, South Africa, Japan and Taiwan.
