Ports of Koper, Ravenna, Trieste and Venice found NAPA

North Adriatic Port Association starts with Slovenian CEO and office in Trieste

After a long time of preparations the ports in the Northern Adriatic Sea launch a joint initiative. Last week a founding contract for the NAPA North Adriatic Port Asscociation was signed in Koper. The members of the new cooperative are the seaports of Koper, Ravenna, Trieste and Venice. In Trieste a joint office will be established. Gregor Veslko, CEO of Luka Koper, will assume presidency for the first six months.

With the aid of NAPA the ports of the northern Adriatic Sea want to become established as a logistics platform for importations from the Far East to Middle and Eastern Europe, and as an alternative to the ports in north-western Europe. Moreover they planned joint measures to improve the maritime connection and the expansion of hinterland traffics. Furthermore the ports of Koper, Ravenna, Trieste and Venice strive to harmonise the regulations and processes.
