Prangl Group buys Slovenian crane supplier Kaluma

Takeover of Kaluma d.o.o. catapults Prangl Group on top of the crane and lifting platform suppliers in Slovenia:

The Prangl Group has taken an important step to consolidate its position as a major crane and lifting platform hiring company in central and eastern Europe. In its press release the Austrian crane, lifting platform and special transport enterprise announces the takeover of the Slovenian company Kaluma d.o.o., headquartered in Hoce. Previous to the acquisition the companies had been cooperating in the Slovenian market.

It covers the fleet and all employees of the Kaluma company that was established in 1991. With this acquisition the Prangl Group becomes the biggest crane and lifting platform supplier in Slovenia. For the time being Kaluma d.o.o. will remains a 100%-subsidiary of Prangl Holding GmbH. On the medium term they are planning a merger of Prangl d.o.o. and Kaluma d.o.o. for the benefit of potential synergies.

With this acquisition the Prangl management increases also the significance of the Slovenian „hub“ and sets up a good basis for a stronger positioning of the corporate group in the neighbouring countries like Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia. The location in Croatia shall also receive more support.

Prangl Group is acting across Europe with its mobile machines. The family company headquartered in Brunn am Gebirge near Vienna has around 570 employees at locations in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and Romania. Last business year they posted a turnover at EUR 75 million. In the first ten months of the current financial year the plus in turnover was 13 per cent.
