Price pressure brings Helmut Pogatschnig GmbH to knees

Transport company Helmut Pogatschnig GmbH from Buchkirchen slides into insolvency

The increased competition and the collapse of prices caused by East-European competitors, combined with increased costs for diesel and road fees led Helmut Pogatschnig GmbH in Buchkirchen near Wels into insolvency. The bankruptcy proceedings about assets of the enterprise was opened on 22 January at the regional court Wels. It is planned to continue the enterprise in a slimmed-down version. Creditors will be offered a compulsory settlement (20 per cent minimum quota).

The latest case of insolvency in the Austrian transport industry affects 33 employees and 27 creditors. According to the KSV 1870 (Austrian association for the protection of creditors) liabilities amount to around EUR 3.3 million, while assets are indicated with EUR 934,000 in the bankruptcy petition. The enterprise has its roots in the year 1986. In 1998 the previously sole owned company was introduced into the Helmut Pogatschnig GmbH.
