Express service provider primetime transported about 2.9 million parcels in the 2011 fiscal year; SMS Aviso enjoys increasing popularity

The year 2011 was marked by a big jump in demand for special services of the express provider primetime. As the enterprise announces, volume in the repair collection service has almost increased nine-fold compared to last year. For this service the primetime driver delivers the empty package provided by the shipper, in order to return it filled with goods to be repaired.

The SMS Aviso, informing the recipient in advance about the delivery, was used almost seven times as often as in 2010. The cash on delivery-service improved by three per cent. In 2011 the number of valuable parcels that were shipped has more than doubled compared to last year.

In the overall analysis shipments carried out by primetime increased by 4.3 per cent to about 2.9 million parcels year-on-year. This includes also B2C shipments handled by Hermes. Due to the existing cooperation private persons are able to pick up parcels in one of the 1,400 Hermes Hermes PaketShops or possibly return it again.

prime time (HVS Haus Versand System GesmbH) is by its own account Austria’s leading specialist for express parcels and additional services such as COD, identity checks and department delivery. The company, based in Linz/Hörsching, directly and indirectly employs about 140 people and has a transport fleet of 90 vehicles.
