Raben Group acquires Czech FMCG specialist Transkam

Takeover of Transkam company consolidates position of Raben Logistics in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

The ownership of the Czech logistics service provider Transkam has changed recently. The Raben Group took over the company with effect from 13 October 2010. Transkam was established in 1990 as a family-run logistics service provider – similar to the Raben Group – with more than 300 employees and warehouses in the Czech Republic (Horovice, Olomouc and Hostivice) and in Slovakia (Nové Mesto nad Váhom). Being one of the biggest providers of 3PL services in the FMCG sector with a focus on transport of food within the two countries, the enterprise gains access to a network for logistics services in ten European countries through its new owner, as the founder of the company, Jaroslav Nezbeda, states. Transkam offers – based on around 60,000 m² warehousing area – national and international logistics services including customs services as well as warehousing logistics with temperature control.

With this acquisition the Raben Group responds to the growing requirements of the market. The management sees signs for a growing trade volume in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The market entrance in the Czech Republic and Slovakia was implemented in 2008 through buying the Setto company. Raben Logistics Czech and Raben Logistics Slovakia have more than 200 employees at the Czech locations in Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Hradec Králové as well as the Slovak locations in Bratislava, Kosice and Zilina. For services in the fields national and international transport, warehousing and contract logistics 25,000m² warehousing area is available.
