CEVA wins three-year Italian automotive contract; Kuehne + Nagel secures major contract in oil & gas sector. CEVA Logistics has signed a three-year agreement with BMW Italia for the operation of the new Dealer Metro Distribution Centre (DMDC) in support of its dealers in Lombardy and Piedmont. CEVA will manage original BMW and MINI spare parts in the new DMDC, a logistics platform covering 3,100 m2 in Albairate in the province of Milan. The warehouse is in a different area from the Regional Distribution Centre of Volargne, in the province of Verona, and will re-supply the BMW and MINI dealers in Lombardy and Piedmont. In order to guarantee immediate response to the dealers‘ requests, CEVA will deliver up to three shipments to each dealer, per day. SNC-Lavalin has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract for global logistics services related to its €785 million project with Sonatrach, Algeria’s national oil and gas company. Sonatrach’s gas treatment complex is being built in Rhourde Nouss in the Sahara desert, approximately 1,200 km southeast of Algiers, to collect raw gas at different gas fields and includes a natural gas processing facility. The project is scheduled for completion in early-2012. The agreement between Kuehne + Nagel and SNC-Lavalin covers the complete logistics services for the construction material and equipment in connection with the project, originating from different locations in Europe, Asia and North America. Kuehne + Nagel is delivering the services in cooperation with its Tunisian partner SMTI – Transport & Logistics, a leading contractor for project services and heavy haulage operations in the Maghreb region.
