Releasing Agent AFG becomes part of Mosolf Group

The vehicle logistics specialist and system services provider MOSOLF has acquired all the company shares in AFG Allgemeine Fahrzeugübernahme-Gesellschaft mbH. Operating as a releasing agent at the interface between vehicle manufacturers and freight forwarders, AFG, employing about 200 people, has been coordinating the handling of vehicles from the end of the production line until they are transferred to the transport service companies commissioned by the manufacturer for more than 25 years. AFG uses modular IT solutions, which have been developed in-house, to manage, integrate, visualise and monitor the complete vehicle dispatch process within the field of vehicle distribution.

“The purchase of AFG enables our corporate group to gain an experienced, reliable and innovative services provider in the field of outbound logistics. AFG’s IT solutions are well able to complement and expand our new digital process structure to provide greater transparency and efficiency in a sensible manner,” says Dr. Jörg Mosolf, CEO Mosolf Group.

Moreover, a new member has joined the management team at AFG Allgemeine Fahrzeugübernahme-Gesellschaft mbH. Egon Christ (52) has been appointed as the new Managing Director, effective 1 January 2018. Egon Christ had previously been working for Daimler AG. In his new function he will be responsible for the development of the Transport Solutions segment and of aligning it to the new demands of customers and the market. Alongside Bernhard Ewe, Egon Christ will be in charge of developing AFG, its integration into the Mosolf Group and the expansion of the Releasing Solutions segment.

Egon Christ has more than thirty years of experience in logistics and supply chain management. The graduated business economist had been working for Daimler AG since 1996 and he bore the overall responsibility for the global transport logistics for all the finished vehicles for 13 of those years. In 2015, he moved to the purchasing department, where he was responsible for the group-wide procurement of all research and development services until recently.

Mosolf Group is a leading system logistics provider for the automotive industry in Europe. The service portfolio of the family-owned company established in 1955 with its headquarters in Kirchheim unter Teck includes customised logistics, technology and service solutions implemented on the basis of a pan-European location network and a multi-modal transport fleet.
