Significantly more air cargo at the Vienna Airport
Vienna International Airport: Air cargo traffic (including trucking) rose by 6.4 per cent in the period from January to June 2014
The Vienna Airport registered considerable growth in air cargo and air mail in the first six months of 2014. In the period from January to June they handled 130,795 tonnes of cargo (air cargo and trucking). This means a 6.4 per cent increase on the same period 2013. In June 2014 a total of 21,071 tonnes of air cargo passed the airport, which is 0.5 per cent more than in the same month of the previous year.
The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport in the first six months of 2014 rose by 2.9 per cent to about 10.54 million passengers. Flight movements declined by 0.3 per cent to 112,461 take offs and landings. Maximum take off weight rose by 2.6 per cent to 3.91 million tonnes, informs the Flughafen Wien AG in a press release.
