Strabag takes holding in Raaberbahn
Raaberbahn offers expanded logistics network to Strabag The Austro-Hungarian railway company Raaberbahn (Gysev) is becoming a new shareholder. The construction group Strabag acquires 5.7 per cent of the shares in a first step, and thus expands its logistics network in Hungary and Eastern Europe. According to an article of the Austrian daily newspaper “Der Standard“ a preliminary agreement was signed on 25 May. The Strabag Group pays a purchase price of EUR 5 million for the shares – subject of approval by the competition authorities’. Seller of the Gysev shares is Speditionsholding of ÖBB (Austrian national railway company). According to EU-requirements the group is obliged to dispose of their shares after the takeover of the Hungarian MÁV Cargo-railway company was finalised in December 2008.
