TFG Transfracht enhances its portfolio of shuttle trains

TFG Transfracht wants to increase share of shuttle trains in total traffic to more than 60 per cent

TFG Transfracht, the market leader in hinterland traffic with German seaports, reinforces the use of shuttle trains. The target of Managing Director Gerhard Oswald is to increase the share of such operations to more than 60 per cent of the total traffic. According measures have been and are taken.

From 6 September six rail rotations will be operated in the AlbatrosExpress system between the terminals Regensburg Ost Ubf and Bremerhaven. This step increases the capacitiy of rail performance and improves the service regarding to fastness and reliability at the same time, as the enterprise announces in a press release. The offer ex Regensburg to German seaports comprises now 13 train departures per week.

On behalf of shippers and forwarders TFG Transfracht transports containers from the German seaports directly to end recipients in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as from the original shipper to German seaports. Three nations (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) as well as two ports (Bremerhaven and Hamburg) are served with one rail system – AlbatrosExpress. The schedule offers 15,000 connections per year from/to 20 terminals in the hinterland. Every day a transport capacity of 4,500 TEU is available.
