TKL group offers also logistics for cut flowers

Successful year 2010 and ambitious targets for 2011 with the specialist for temperature controlled food transportations TKL (Vienna)

The TKL corporate group has added a facet to its commitment in the segment of fresh goods and ultra fresh goods logistics. Since recently the owner-managed company with its headquarters in Vienna offers also logistics for cut flowers. “The flowers are collected with our vehicles directly from the market gardens and delivered overnight before 8 am to the branches of the food retail throughout Austria“, explains managing director Wilhelm Leithner when talking with the Austrian transport magazine Österreichische Verkehrszeitung.

The TKL corporate group is a spin-off from DHL, resulting from the management buy-out about one year ago. The enterprise has around 420 employees at locations in Vienna, Laxenburg and Salzburg-Bergheim. Turnover 2010 rose 7 per cent to EUR 87 million. Deep freeze logistics accounted for about 60 per cent thereof, while the particularly strong growing food and fresh logistics segment accounted for 40 per cent.

In the year 2011 the TKL corporate group invests around EUR 4.5 million into the modernisation of the logistics centre in Vienna-Donaustadt and into the rejuvenation of the about 120 units of the vehicle fleet. Moreover they are planning to build a new fresh goods warehouse in Wiener Neudorf, starting by 2012. Wilhelm Leithner’s target is to expand the temperature controlled transport logistics activities to Slovakia.
