Shareholders of Intercontainer-Interfrigo SA decide to liquidate the traditional intermodal company

 

The European market for container transportations on the railway looses one of its most prominent actors. The shareholders of ICF Intercontainer-Interfrigo SA, Basel, have decided to liquidate the traditional intermodal enterprise in their extraordinary meeting on 26 November 2010 in Brussels. Joan Dubaere from the Belgian lawyers Racine & Vergels in Brussels was appointed the liquidator. ICF managing director Bart Van der Cruysse retired from his officebut remains involved in the planning of further steps fort he different business segments.

At the moment 145 ICF block trains/shuttles are operated every week in Europe. Operating and marketing of the traffic is divided into the business units west, east and CIS. The primary target of the liquidation is to transfer the business units and its transport offerings and employees completely and without any losses of customers to interested parties. The liquidator has thus arranged that the ICF block trains and shuttles will be operated in the meantime, which facilitates the transfer of the traffic considerably. The negotiations about the transfer of the business units are running.
